The unsung saga of Vijay Barse will be cinematographed on the Big screens soon in an upcoming movie starred by Amitabh Bachchan playing another real-life protagonist in “Sairat” director Nagaraj Manjule’s debut hindi movie.

In the movie- yet to get a title, Bachchan will be playing the role of Nagpur’s Vijay Barse who who more than a decade ago, established the city based NGO ‘Slum Soccer’ which promotes the sport among slum kids helping them in physical as well as demeanour development.

Slum Soccer has also been responsible for selecting children from across India to participate in the Homeless World Cup every year starting 2007. Vijay Barse founded the football organisation named Slum Soccer in 2002, which enables underprivileged children to develop a better lifestyle by participating in football matches.

Though he is more than happy to speak about his adulation for Bachchan, Manjule is reluctant to talk about the project he will start shooting with the megastar in October.

“Let’s just say, it is based on a real-life character. But the way I’ve written the part and the film, it moves very far away from the original source,” he said.
