Nagpur: In an audacious theft at the Shri Santkrupa Provision and Mobile Shop in Dighori, Nagpur, where over 80 mobile phones valued at Rs 40 lakh were stolen. The incident occurred around 4 am on September 14, when three thieves broke open the shop’s shutter and committed the theft, as captured in CCTV footage. Shop owner Sachin Gawande promptly lodged a complaint with the Hudkeshwar Police, who initiated an investigation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4), Rashmita Rao, in a press conference, revealed that two accused had been arrested from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with the case.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammad Mursalin alias Salman Mohammad Mursalin (26), a resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and Mohammad Shahzad Mohammad Farukh (42), from Shahjah Colony, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. A third accused, Iqbal, also from Ghaziabad, is still at large, and police efforts to apprehend him are ongoing, according to DCP Rao.
The police have recovered 72 mobile phones of various brands, valued at Rs 17.18 lakh, from the arrested suspects. The search for the remaining accused continues.
