Vidarbha State convention to demand separate Vidarbha

Nagpur: Vidarbha State convention will be held on November 19 in Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Hall to demand separate Vidarbha. The Republican Party of India of Union Minister for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale has become active regarding the issue of separate Vidarbha. The convention will be inaugurated by Union Minister Ramdas Athwale, informed Bhupesh Thoolkar, Maharashtra Pradesh President of RPI while addressing a press conference at Ravi Bhavan. Rajan Waghmare was also present for the press conference.

Thoolkar said that right from the beginning the BJP has been supporting the demand of statehood to Vidarbha. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar had even organised Janjagaran Yatra in 2010 in support of Vidarbha. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and late Gopinath Munde had even assured that after their government comes to power they would grant statehood to Vidarbha.
Now Vidarbha has become capable and independent so proposal will be presented. During the Vidarbha State convention the proposal would be presented and then sent to the Union Government, he informed.

Thoolkar further said that from past some years’ leaders of various parties and organisations have been supporting the demand of separate Vidarbha. Now through this convention all of them will become active.

He also informed, Vidarbha Vikas Parishad President MP Dutta Meghe, Vidarbha Rajya Samiti President Adv Shihari Aney, former minister Anil Deshmukh, Dr Nitin Raut, MLAs Ravi Rana, Anil Bonde, Ashish Deshmukh and Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti Chief Convenor Ram Nevale, Adim Jati Snagahtana’s Nanda Parate, Vidarbha Mazha President Rajkumnar Tirpude, General Secretary Dr Mohanlal Patil, ex-MLA Anil Gondane, Organiser Bhimrao Bansod, Adivasi Aghadi’s L K Mdavi will be present to guide the convention.
