Vidarbha loses a brave son in Uri terror attack

vikas-janrao-uikeNagpur: Vidarbha too lost a brave son in the dastardly Uri terror attack in which seventeen soldiers were killed on Sunday morning. The Army Jawan Vikas Janrao Uike, hailing from Nandgaon Khandeshwar village of Amravati became a martyr when a group of four fidayeen militants stormed the Army camp in Uri near the Line of Control (LoC) around 4 a.m. on Sunday. The four militants too were gunned down in the encounter.

The body of martyred Jawan Vikas Uike is being brought to Nandgaon Khandeshwar from Jammu and Kashmir to Pune and from Pune to his native village. The last rites would be performed with full military honours.

A group of heavily armed terrorists targeted the rear administrative base of a unit at Uri, Kashmir. In the counter action, four terrorists were eliminated. 17 soldiers too made the supreme sacrifice. The administrative base had large strength of troops of units turning over after their tour of duty who were stationed in tents/temporary shelters which caught fire, and resulted in heavy casualties. We salute the sacrifice of 17 soldiers who were martyred in the operation.
