Nagpur: Yet another disruption in running of long distance trains running on Howrah-Mumbai route and Howrah-New Delhi is on cards as Railways is taking up non-interlocking work at Salwa station in South East Central Railway (SECR) of Nagpur Division.
The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Gondia Vidarbha Express and Kolhapur-Gondia Maharashtra Express will be short-terminated at Nagpur from November 6 to 8. Hence, these trains will originate from Nagpur Station instead of Gondia.
In a press release, Nagpur Division of Central Railway informed that the short termination of these trains has been necessitated due to non-interlocking work at Salwa Station under South East Central Railway (SECR) in connection with Rajnandgaon-Kalmana third line.
Other trains passing through Nagpur that will be affected include Bilaspur-Bhagat Ki Kothi, Howrah-CSMT-Howrah, and Shalimar-LTT-Shalimar. These trains will run through the diverted route Katni-Jabalpur-Itarsi-Khandwa-Bhusawal.
Alongside, the modification of the yard is also planned in connection with Rajnandgaon-Kalamna Junction 3rd line work. Due to the work, Vidarbha and Maharashtra Express would be short terminated at Nagpur from November 6 to 8 and hence, they would start ex-Nagpur on these three days.
Similarly, other trains on the route would skip Nagpur Railway Station and instead, run via the diverted route of Katni-Jabalpur, Itarsi and Bhopal onto New Delhi. The other diverted route would be Katni-Murwara-Saugor-Virangna Laxmibai and Katni-Jabalpur- Itars i -Khandwa- Bhusawal.
Train No. 12105 (CSMT-Gondia ) Vidarbha Exp will be short terminated at Nagpur station from November 6 to 8 and also start ex-Nagpur. Same is going to be the case with 12106(Gondia-CSMT) Vidarbha Exp whereas, Train no. 11039 (Kolhapur – Gondia) Maharashtra Express and Train No. 11040 would be short terminated at Nagpur and start ex-Nagpur from Nov 8 to 10.
