VCA’s Jamtha stadium sports uber cool look to host India-B’desh T20 match, CP reviews arrangements

Nagpur: Come November 10 and all roads will lead to Vidarbha Cricket Association’s Jamtha Stadium, where India and Bangladesh will try to outdo each other in aTwenty20 match. As the fans frenzy go super high to greet their favorite cricketing stars in their city, the traffic arrangement will pose a big challenge before the department.

Keeping up with the tight traffic schedule on Wardha road , which is already squeezed out in view of development works, particularly widening of railway overbridge near Chinch Bhavan and ongoing metro rail works, the traffic department has enforced its men to ensure traffic remains under control.

On Thursday, the city Commissioner of Police Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay visited VCA stadium to review the arrangements. Over 400 traffic policemen along with volunteers will be monitoring the traffic situation on the day the match will be played.

Meanwhile, the traffic department has also appealed NMC to provide city bus facility to ferry cricket fans to the stadium. Movement of heavy vehicles from Chhatrapati Square to Wardha road will be barred from 2 pm to midnight. Vehicular traffic flowing in from Butibori side will be diverted to the bypass.

To avoid jam traffic police will facilitate both the ways on Wardha road as one-way. Also no vehicle will be allowed parking on NH-7 on match day.
Meanwhile the stadium has also been spruced up to welcome the teams. The seating area sports uber cool aqua blue color that will certainly compliment the enthusiasm of fans pouring into the stadium.
