Nagpur: A new market has been started in Nagpur by Nagpur Municipal Corporation for the Women Self Help Group. In this market the hand made products by the Self Help Groups of the state will be showcased and sold.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Women and Child Welfare Committee, Department of Social Welfare, Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission, ‘Deendayal Antyodaya Yojna’ National Urban Livelihoods Mission and District Rural Development Agency are jointly going to manage this market. This market was inaugurated today at the hands of Honourable Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari.
After the inauguration Hon Nitin Gadkari lit the lamp and gave his best wishes to the Women Self Help Group members. He then spoke to the Women Self Help Group members and took the detailed information about the market and its products.
MLC Anil Sole, Opposition Party Leader Tanaji Vanve, Women and Child Welfare Committee President Varsha Thakre, Civil and Project Committee Chairman Sanjay Bangale, Dharampet Zone Chairman Rupa Roy, Women and Child Welfare Committee member Vandana Bhagat, Corporators Divya Dhurde, Sunil Hiranwar, Nishant Gandhi, NMC Additional Commissioner Dr R Z Siddique, Deputy Commissioner Dr Ranjana Lade, DAY- NULM’s National Mission Manager Mayankmohan Mishra, Jayant Pathak, Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Moroney were also present at the inaugural function.

Khadi bags, terracotta jewelery, Indian pasta (sarugunde), Vayagane turmeric, domestic spices, daily use items made from bamboo, paper bags, handmade shirts etc. are available here. The Self Help Groups from Wardha, Gondia, Gadchiroli, Ratnagiri, Solapur, Yavatmal, Nagpur etc are selling their products here in this market.
