Nagpur: An unidentified co-passenger reportedly stole away cash, mobile phone and gold ornaments worth Rs 2.89 lakh from the bag of a man travelling along with him in autorickshaw here on Friday evening.
Rajesh Govindrao Rokde native of Tiroda boarded an auto at Gandhibagh for going to Ganeshpeth bus stop at around 5 pm on Friday. He deboarded the auto there and subsequently boarded bus for Tiroda. However, when he opened his bag, he was taken aback by shock as the cash, mobile phone along with her gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2,89,374 were missing.
He rushed to Ganeshpeth police station and filed a complaint against anonymous culprit travelling in the auto.
Ganeshpeth police have registered an offence under section 379,34 of IPC and started the probe.
