The valedictory function of PRATISHRUTI XIV held today, on 21st February 2014 in the Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management premises, Nagpur concluded. The event was graced with the presence of Director DMT- Prof. QH Jeevaji, Principal Dr. VS Deshpande, Vice-Principal Dr. RS Pande, Dean SRC Dr. Rashmi Shahu, Prof. In-charge Pratishruti XIV Prof. PA Dwaramwar and cultural secretary SRC Vishwas Setiya. Guest of honour for the function was Love Kumar Malhotra, Vice- President, Neumann Components Pvt. Ltd and an alumnus of RCOEM (1997 batch) and a special guest Gautam Awasthi, another alumnus of RCOEM.

The programme started with a synopsis of PRATISHRUTI XIV and all the events that took place in these two days. The opening remark was presented by Prof. In-charge Pratishruti XIV Prof. PA Dwaramwar who stated that Pratishruti provides a platform for showcasing the talents of students which helps them improve their skills viz. group involvement, leadership, confidence, etc. for a brighter future. He then informed the gathering about the various events of Pratishruti along with the aims of each event.

The annual NSS report was presented by Nilesh Mishra and Shreshtha Swami, Secretary NSS wherein they mentioned all the activities undertaken by the NSS unit of RCOEM. Shivani Modi, Sports Secretary delivered the annual sports report wherein she emphasized on the achievements of the college students at university, state, and national level sports events.

This was followed by the address of Love Kumar Malhotra, who appreciated the institute for its good infrastructure and quality of education. He emphasized on entrepreneurship as the need of the hour and motivated the students about it.

Gautam Awasthi, another alumnus, shared the two nuggets of his experience. In his ‘Gyan session’, he spoke of employability skills by citing the case study of ‘Whatsapp’, a famous online messenger and stressed on out of the box thinking.

The presidential address was rendered by Prof. QH Jeevaji, Director DMT. He congratulated the entire team for conducting the competitions in technical and non- technical fields with ease and perfection. He urged the students to take risks and pursue their dreams with grit and determination.

The programme was interspersed with prize distribution of various events and felicitation of meritorious students in various fields. Letters of appreciation were handed to the SRC members.

The results of the much awaited intra-collegiate branch cup were also declared. The programme was conducted by Urvashi Dhoot and Yaman Gupta and the vote of thanks was proposed by Vishwas Setiya, Cultural Secretary SRC.
