Ustad Amjad Ali Khan to perform at Buddha Mahotsav in Nagpur

Nagpur.

The famous Deekshabhoomi of Nagpur where Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar took Deeksha of Budhism many years ago will host a Buddhist meet from tommorow. It will be called Buddha Mahotsav and will see Buddhist scholars from all over India and even other parts of the world congregating to Nagpur to hold discussions and discourses over Buddhism.

The stated objectives of the Mahotsav are-
“to expose Buddhists to the Art, culture and philosophy of Buddhism as followed in other parts of the world. To hold it at the same spot where Buddhism was reborn 60 years ago and to honour the greatest Buddhist to propogate this religion since Buddha and Ashoka.”

This festival is being held in Nagpur since 2011 and has been gaining in popularity since then.

This year’s festival will see Concert by world famous Sarod maestreo USTAD AMJAD ALI KHAN and discourses on Buddhism by Buddhist scholars coming from London, UK.
