Nagpur Today: At any given college, one gets to see students from various regions, caste, creed, language, cultural etc. However, once we become classmates, we enjoy a unique unity in diversity. Today coming from nuclear families, there are chances that we may not even speak our native lingo. We may profess and observe different religions. This unity in diversity was proved true by the students of G H Raisoni College of Commerce, Science & Technology when they decided to observe the Deep Ramza. Pretty unique for a bunch of college students! They did not just do it for the heck of it but went all the way and made it an event to remember and cherish. Many of the juniors will remember and carry the light from the diyas forward.
This innovative programme was a result of a brain storming session of students. What was worth noticing was the fact that they designed the shape of Indian Map and lit five thousand diyas (earthen lamps) around the huge map of India in the college premises. While experiencing the jubilation and the love from the fellow human beings, they exclaimed that ‘that’s how Raisonians celebrate unity’!
The students went on to perform a ‘Ramzan Act’ emphasizing on the importance of all the rituals of Ramzan. All the students were attired in various Indian attires, like Dhoti Kurtas and Churidhars, Salwar Kameer ensemble, etc. On the whole, the students were looking a sight which pleased the eyes.
