The victim, Wasim Abdul Wasim Parekh (22), resident of Subhash Statue, near Kirapura Hanuman Temple, on Monday (June 11) had gone to Chhapru Nagar branch of State Bank of India to deposit Rs 70,000. At the bank, two unidentified men asked Wasim to fill up their money depositing slip. Later, the two men told Wasim they don’t know the account number and since they have Rs 2 lakh, asked him to accompany them outside the bank.

The two men took Wasim near MRF Tyre showroom at Telephone Exchange Square and asked him to keep their Rs 2 lakh kept in handkerchief with him. In return, the two tricksters took Rs 70,000 from Wasim and vanished from the scene.

However, when Wasim untied the handkerchief he saw the bundle, he noticed a Rs 500 note at the top and the rest were just a paper bundle. Realising he has been fooled and tricked, Wasim registered a case with Lakadganj police in this connection.
