Nagpur: After Nidhi Kamdar, one more Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), has reportedly found embroiled in controversy. Kaustubh Dhavse is the OSD in question. The Opposition has tossed up the issues and making the two OSDs their target.

Notably, both Kamdar and Dhavse are rank ‘outsiders’ as the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, by doing away with the tradition in state administration, where senior bureaucrats used to call the shots in policy making, inducted them in the CMO as expert OSD. The set up is on the lines of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Nidhi Kamdar (30) is social media expert and Kaustubh Dhavse (38) is a management as well as information technology expert.

Recently, police had issued notices to a number of youths for circulating inflammatory messages in social media. Around 20-25 youths were interrogated by Cyber Cell of Mumbai Crime Branch. These youths had later met NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and apprised him about the development. Subsequently, Pawar had taken up the matter with appropriate authorities.

The NCP had targeted the OSD Nidhi Kamdar by alleging that the action against the youths was initiated at her behest. However, the Chief Minister had rejected the NCP accusation and given clean chit to Nidhi Kamdar. “The accused youths had circulated nasty messages with casteist overtones hence 11 of them were issued notices,” Fadnavis had stated. However, NCP had said that at least 30-35 youths were issued notices just for writing against policies of BJP Government. The youths were ‘tortured’ mentally and physically for hours on the pretext enquiry, the head of NCP’s Social Media Cell Ravikant Varpe claimed. “NCP will raise the issue in the Winter Session of State Legislature in Nagpur,” he warned. Moreover, Pawar has assured the ‘victimised’ youths of providing the legal help.

On the other hand, the Nationalist Congress Party and the leader of Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana Raju Shetty have blamed another OSD in CMO Kaustubh Dhavse for creating chaos in loan waiver scheme for farmers. “Who is this Dhavse” is the very question raised by NCP Spokesman Nawab Malik and accused him of indulging in ‘Dalali.’
