Two house-breaking thefts in Wadi and Jaripatka

Nagpur News : After robberies, dacoity and chain-snatching two house-breaking thefts were also registered in the city on Wednesday under the jurisdiction of Wadi and Jaripatka police stations.

Unidentified thieves broke open into the house of Anil Shankarrao Meshram on Wednesday afternoon and burgled booty worth Rs 1.67 lakh. Anil Meshram locked the house at Siddharth Society, Athwa Mail, Wadi and went with his family to visit his sister who lives in Jaripatka. The thieves broke the front door lock and stole Rs 25,000 cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.67 lakh from the steel almirah.

Anil discovered the theft after returning home. He immediately reported the theft to Wadi police who registered an offence under Section 454 and 380 of the IPC and started investigations.

In another house-breaking theft, booty worth Rs 1.57 lakh from the house of Shakuntala Ramnarayansingh Thakur (48). The house, situated at Sumedh Nagar, was locked as the complainant went to attend annual social gathering at Nagsen School on Wednesday. Meanwhile, unidentified thieves broke into the house and stole a laptop and gold ornaments collectively worth Rs 1.57 lakh from a wooden almirah.

Jaripatka police booked the unidentified thieves and registered an offence under Sections 454, 457 and 380 of the IPC.
