Nagpur: Cops attached to Unit-3 of Nagpur Police Crime Branch nabbed two of the five goons for attempting to kill a young property dealer in Lakadganj area of the city.
The arrested accused have been identified as Nitin alias Munna Ganesh Pillai (33), a resident of Mudaliar Chowk, Shanti Nagar and Mohsin Khan alias Bhurya Sharik Khan (35), a resident of Plot No 702, Shanti Nagar, near Meshram Country Liquor Shop.
Property dealer Mir Saif Ali Mir Akhtar Ali Sayyed (26) had borrowed Rs 1 lakh from Sheikh Wasim alias Chirya. As he was unable to return the money, Sheikh Wasim, Nitin Pillai, Mohsin Khan, Faizan Khan and Mohammad Aleem Mohammad Sharif stormed into his house on February 21 and thrashed him. They then closed the door of the house. Sheikh Wasim demanded his money back and asked him to give additional Rs 50,000 immediately. After an argument, Sheikh Wasim took out a pistol and shot at him. But Mir Saif escaped unhurt and the bullet hit the pillar in the house.
Family members of Mir Saif started shouting for help. Sensing trouble, the assailants fled the spot. Due to fear from the goons, Mir Saif did not lodge a complaint at that time. He gained confidence and finally lodged a complaint against them on Thursday.
On the basis of the victim’s complaint, Lakadganj Police registered a case under Sections 307, 147, 148, 148, 385,452,506(b), 201 of the IPC, read with Sections 3,5,25,27 of the Arms Act and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
