A 19-year-old woman and an 8-year-old girl were molested in Wadi and Koradi police areas on Tuesday.
In the first case, mother of an eight-year-old girl lodged a complaint against a 25-year-old youth who allegedly molested her 8 year old daughter. Wadi police said the incident happened on Tuesdayafternoon. The mother, in her complaint, stated that her daughter was returning home when the accused Vikky Raju Patil (25), a resident of Ganesh Nagar slums, Dawlameti, Wadi forcefully dragged the girl into his house and tried to outrage her modesty. The girl managed to run away from him and narrated her ordeal to her mother on reaching home.
Wadi police registered a case under sections 354 read with subsections 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 and arrested Vikky on the complaint of victim’s mother.
In another case a 19-year-old woman was molested by a middle-aged man in Jaripatka under Koradi police station. The accused who has been booked by Koradi police, has been identified as Aas Mohd Sheikh (45), a resident of VNIT Quarters, Jaripatka.
The 48-year-old complainant had given money to the accused’s wife. However, when the complainant asked her money back from the woman, she refused to buzz. Later the complainant and her 19-year-old daughter went to the pan kiosk in front of Vishal Sabhagruha, owned by accused’s son. The complainant then asked the boy to convey to her mother to return the money. However, the accused along with his two mates used indecent language and hurled profanities against the two women. The boy later forcefully held the complainant’s hand.
On the basis of the complaint, Koradi police have booked the accused under sections 354 (a), 323, 504 and 34 of the IPC.
