Two fires break out in city, loss put in lakhs, no casualties reported

IMG_1827Nagpur: A major fire broke out in a Recreation Club in Jaripatka area on Monday midnight. According to Fire Brigade sources, short circuit is the possible cause of fire at the Recreation Club situation on CMPDI Road.

The fire reduced the property and assets of the Club to ashes and caused loss in lakhs. Two Fire Tenders fought the blaze and brought it under control. Further investigations are underway to pinpoint the exact cause of fire and the loss.

IMG_1821Vandevi Nagar Slums fire:
In another incident, a big fire destroyed five huts in Vandevi Nagar Slums and left their occupants homeless in the chilly night. Around 4-5 fire tenders were deployed to bring the fire under control. However, there were no reports of any casualties.

IMG_1836The loss of property is put at Rs 2.50 lakh as several households were destroyed. The huts gutted in the fire belonged to Ankush Ninave, Sheikh Naseer, Sheikh Tahir, Sukhru Burde and Shamiullah Rahim. The families were forced to spend the cool night in open that too without food and water. The fire erupted at about 11.50 pm on Monday apparently due to short circuit.

Fire Brigade and police have launched in-depth investigation into the fire.
