Engineering student died in hit-and-run mishap on his b’day

accident-logoNagpur News: After a day full of fun on his birthday with friends, an engineering student died in a hit and run mishap on Monday night at Somalwada Square.

Joy Guha, 20, was heading home at Datta layout in Jaitala on his bike (MH31-X8913, Splendor) when an unidentified rashly driven car knocked him down at the Somalwada square around 11.30.
Sonegaon police has seized the accused car (MH31-B1177) while the car driver is absconding. Police informed that Guha, who was driving without helmet, had suffered major head injuries. Cops told that the passers-by had rushed him to nearby private hospital but he was declared brought dead.
“His relatives told that it was his birthday on Monday. After celebrating with is parents in the day, he had gone to have fun with his friends. He was alone while driving home,” told police.

In another incident, a third year engineering student Rajnikant Shrivastav lost his life after a speeding four-wheeler knocked down his bike before hitting a bi-cycle near Pilli Nadi on Kamptee road in Jaripatka police station area on Tuesday evening.
Police informed that Shrivastav hails from Chandrapur and was staying in the hostel. He was heading to his room when a rashly driven four-wheeler knocked a cyclist and later his bike. Shrivastav succumbed to his head injuries while the cyclist is undergoing treatment at Mayo hospital.
Jaripatka police has seized the Innova car and are searching for the alleged drunk driver, who has been absconding.
