Two dead-bodies fished out from canal

Nagpur: August 13, 2015 witnessed one of the most severe downpours in the city. Many areas witnessed water logging, while many other low-lying areas witnessed deluge like water entering their homes and carrying away house-hold goods in the strong flow.

An old lady (grandmother) and her grand-son died in the water-flooding the Kasturba Nagar. Some other places too witnessed the loss of life due to the fury of the rain-gods.

On August 14, 2015, two dead bodies of residents of Kachipura and Gittikhadan were fished out. On August 14, 2015, early morning the dead body of Muluk alias Mukund Meshram and a resident of Kachipura was found near Sukhrawari area on the banks of Nag Nadi. On August 13, 2015, Shayamabai Chunnulal Nagpure a resident of Ganganagar Slums and Muluk alias Mukund Meshram had got carried away by the strong flow of water. The dead-body of Shayamabai Nagpure was located in the canal of Indira Nagar slums near Railway line towards Delhi.

Yesterday at around 4 pm, when Shayamabai Nagpure was trying to take out the valuable goods from her house which got submerged in water, suddenly strong water current came and carried her away. Nearly 7 kilometers away, the dead body of Mukund Meshram was also found.

The Kotwali Police fished out the dead-bodies with the help of the Fire Department. The police have informed the kith and kin of the deceased and they came and identified the bodies. After finishing the formalities, the police have dispatched the bodies for post-mortem.
