Two chain-snatchers rob Pune-based woman of “Mangalsutra” valued at Rs 2.50 lakh

In one of the biggest chain-snatching incidents in value terms, two motorcycle borne muggers robbed a Pune-based woman of her “Mangalsutra” worth Rs 2,50,000. The daring chain-snatching occurred in posh and busy Kotwal Nagar area on Monday night. Cops have as usual are searching for the robbers.

The victim, Snehal Divakar Joshi (57), resident of Flat No. 11, Plot No. 73, Naina Apartment, Ideal Colony, Kotrud, Pune, along with her brother Anup Joshi, was going towards Savarkar Nagar Square from Pratap Nagar Square around 8 pm on Monday. Both brother-sister duo was riding on their Pleasure scooter (MH-31/CQ 9463). When the Joshis reached in front of Devashish Hospital, two unidentified motorcycle borne muggers in the age group of 22 years came from behind and snatched the gold “Mangalsutra” Snehal was wearing and speeded away. The gold booty was valued at Rs 2,50,000. Astonished by the valuable loss, both Joshis rushed to Pratap Nagar Police Station and filed a complaint in this connection.

Pratap Nagar PSI Napte registered an offence against the two accused chain-snatchers and launched hunt to nab them.
