Two brothers get 1-year jail for assaulting a teenage boy

The Judicial Magistrate First Class D A Tiwari on Thursday sentenced two accused brothers in assault case to one-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) each with a fine of Rs 5000 each.

According to details of the case, the complainant Ashutosh Mohan Kode (17), resident of Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, Jaitala, had gone to his friend Swapnil Kedar’s house around 10.30 pm on 27.11.2014. At the same time, the two accused brothers Ishu Kalkor and Narayan Kalkor threateningly questioned Ashutosh as to why he has come to Swapnil’s house. As the heated exchange of words was going on, the two accused suddenly smashed glass top of a Tea Table and hit it on Ashutosh’s head. At that time, Pratap Nagar police had registered a case 527/2014 under Sections 324, 34 of the IPC and the two accused were remanded to magisterial custody.

After a thorough investigation, a charge-sheet against the two accused brothers Ishu Kalkor and Narayan Kalkor, both residents of Plot No. 10, Gorle Layout, was filed in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class D A Tiwari.

During the trial the court found the two accused guilty and sentenced them to undergo one-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) each with a fine of Rs 5000 each.

The investigation into the case was done by PSI Madhav Shinde, constable Sanjay Kalmegh and NPC Gajanan Uike. Government Pleader Adv Gayatri Verma represented the State.
