Tuli mall at Indora square sealed for defaulting on Rs 2.92 cr property tax!

In major move against commercial establishments defaulting on property tax, NMC Aasi Nagar Zone officers sealed the famous Tuli Mall at Indora square early Wednesday for repeatedly avoiding tax to the tune of Rs 2.92 crores. The mall remained sealed for the entire day and could be reopened only by 5.30 in the evening.
Aasi Nagar zone officer Harish Raut told Nagpur Today that the mall was reopened after the demand draft of Rs 51 lakh was paid along with post dated cheques of remaining amount and an assurance letter that there would not arise similar situation in future and all the rules and regulations will be duly followed.
Raut said that the NMC had sent the mall authorities many letters in the past but it all went unreponded, following which the zone level action was initiated against the mall.
The mall comprises multiplex and various shops, which remained closed for the day. Meanwhile there were no film shows during the day.
