Nagpur: A trailer-truck knocked a young man dead and injured his friend seriously on Jabalpur-Hyderabad highway in Pardi area of Nagpur on Thursday night. After the accident, the driver of the trailer-truck sped away fearing arrest.
Identified as Arjun Khanna-Gaikwad (30), the deceased was a resident of Pipri, Kanhan. Injured Amit Bhagwat Chaure (30), also a resident of Pipri, Kanhan, was admitted to Roy Hospital, Kamptee.

Arjun and Amit were returning home on a Honda Unicorn motorcycle (MH-31/AT-2696) around 8 pm. A rashly-driven trailer-truck hit them from behind on the highway. Arjun and Amit fell off the bike and sustained serious injuries. The trailer-truck driver fled the spot.
Arjun and Amit were rushed to Roy Hospital but on the way, Arjun succumbed to his injuries. Police registered a case of hit-n-run under Sections 106(2), 125 (a)(b), 281 of the BNS, read with Sections 134, 177, 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act, against the driver of the ‘killer’ trailer-truck.
