    Tree plantation drive on the occassion of yoga day

    Nagpur: To make the International Yoga Day on 21 Jun 2018 a memorable occasion and keeping the spirit of Vanmahotsav alive all personnel of Headquarters Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force, Vayu Sena Nagar, undertook a tree plantation drive led by Air Marshal Hemant Sharma Ati Vishisht Seva Medal Vishisht Seva Medal, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force along with Mrs Kusum Sharma, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional).

    A variety of fruit bearing and ornamental trees were planted during the occasion. The Air warriors along with their families actively participated in the plantation drive and pledged to protect the environment by planting more trees in their vicinity.

    The AOC-in-C during the tree plantation reiterated that the global warming and climate change are no longer abstract concepts and that the tree plantation drive serves as a climate change mitigation movement and raises consciousness towards the importance of biodiversity for our well being. He urged all personnel to ensure saplings of healthy nurturing and survival for creating pollution free environment.
