Nagpur: Often traffic jam is experienced during the winter session as the roads leading to Vidhan Sabha are closed causing inconvenience to the citizens. Now to add to this problem is ongoing metro and cement road works. Due to this either the roads are closed or turned into one way. These days traffic problem has become a hot topic of discussion in city. This year for two weeks the people are to face traffic problem due to winter session. The citizens already had the taste of traffic jam when the Gowari people turned up in large number to pay tribute to the martyrs at Gowari memorial. The traffic was stranded for hours together. The traffic department had to make lot of efforts to regularise the traffic and till evening the work of regularising traffic was going on.

The traffic police will be literally put to test because of the big programmes morchas rallies etc. Imagine, daily 10 morcha coming towards Vidhan Sabha Bhavan from various roads which would be closed for traffic causing inconvenience to the office goers, daily wage workers, ambulances taking the patients to hospital. According to traffic department already planning has been done but seeing the traffic jam on Gowari martyrs day shows that traffic departments planning failed.

Talking of the traffic problem Traffic Departments DCP Rajendra Pardesi said that a systematic planning has been done to tackle the traffic jam problem during winter session as many morchas would be coming. He said that traffic departments staff would be posted at various points to divert the traffic.
