Nagpur: Futala Lakeside Road will be closed on Independence Day to prevent traffic congestion, as announced by the city’s Traffic Police. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sashikant Satav has issued a notification enforcing the closure and traffic diversions under Sections 115, 116, and 117 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
To manage traffic flow, vehicles will be diverted from the old Octroi Post on Amravati Road towards Ravi Nagar Square and Bharat Nagar Square. This move aims to reduce congestion and ensure a smoother experience on the day.
The Traffic Police will also conduct a special drive around Futala Lake, focusing on curbing hooliganism, particularly among youths riding two-wheelers, a recurring issue during Independence Day celebrations.
