Traders protest looting incident, firing of gun shots in air by robbers; demand quick arrest

The incident in which a businessman was assaulted and robbed of Rs 12 lakh at gun point by three armed criminals sent tremors across the city. The three robbers audaciously fired gun shots in the air with the sole aim of creating panic. Rattled by the looting incident, a deputation of BJP Vyapari Aghadi (Traders’ Front) marched to Lakadganj Police Station and strongly demanded immediate arrest of perpetrators of the crime. The traders condemned the looting and firing of gun shots in the air.

“We have demanded immediate arrest of the robbers and subsequently return of the amount to the aggrieved trader. The Traders’ Front has also demanded sternest action against the criminals so that such incidents do not occur in future,” said the deputation.

The deputation was led by BJP Vice President Asif Kaliwala, Corporator Pradeep Pohane, Vyapari Aghadi’s President Manoharlal Ahuja, General Secretary Sanjay Wadhwani, Ashok Shaniware, Ravi Agrawal, East Nagpur President Bhupendra Chelani, Shyam Bajaj, Alimbhai, Hemant Joshi, Lakhi Parasnani, Subhash Kotecha, Regional General Secretary Mahendra Kataria, Palak Ramavatar Agrawal, Pankaj Bahadule, Prakash Bhavanani, Rahul Jain, Jani Amalani, and a large number of traders.

Asif Kaliwala, Bhupendra Chelani, Sanjay Wadhwani urged the police to increase patrolling in Itwari, Maskasath and other commercial areas and provide adequate security to traders.
