To be continued: Another train derails, this time near Khandala

In the third train derailment of the day, two coaches of a goods train have reported to be derailed in Maharashtra on Thursday.

Two coaches of the goods train came off tracks near Khandala.

The incident followed derailment of the Rajdhani Express in Delhi earlier in the day.

The engine and a power coach of the Rajdhani Express from Ranchi came off tracks near Minto Bridge. There were no injuries in the Rajdhani mishap.

According to Northern Railway spokesperson Neeraj Sharma, the engine and the power coach derailed while approaching New Delhi Railway Station from Ranchi in Jharkhand around 11.45 am.

Earlier, at least seven coaches of the Shaktipunj Express derailed near Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh. No one was injured in that mishap also.

According to railway officials, the incident occurred near Obara around 6 am. The train from Howrah in West Bengal was headed to Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.

The reason for the derailment was not yet clear. However, officials ruled out the possibility of broken tracks.
