Timely alert foils dacoity bid at Borgaon; 5 including minor arrested

Gittikhadan police cracked down on five youths including a minor who were out to plan dacoity at a house in the area. Timely action by cops foiled their bid, after local residents alerted the cops.

Cops have identified the thieves as Kishor Nankuji Tansen (19), a resident of Borgaon, near IIT College; Akshay Ravindrra Nagrale (19), a resident of Madhav Nagar, Gorewada; Akash Ramesh Nagdevte (20), a resident of Gokul Society, near Kalpataru Sabhagruha, Borgaon; Bhupesh Fakirchand Ukey (20), a resident of Madhav Nagar, Gorewada. The minor boy has also been taken into police custody. Cops also recovered an artificial revolver worth Rs 9000, three live ammunition worth Rs 1500 and Rs 100 from their possession.

Police sources said five youths gathered in bushes beside Gokul Apartment, Borgaon between 11 pm and 11.30 pm on Monday and were planning to loot a house in the apartment. However, one of the local residents overheard their conversation and immediately informed Gittikhadan police. Cops swung into action and before the youths could make their move, cops nabbed them.

Gittikhadan police took the youths into their custody and registered an offence under Sections 399 of the IPC read with sub sections 3+25 and 4+25 of the Arms Act, and 135 of Motor Vehicle Act and arrested the four youths and detained the minor boy.
