Unotherised Construction Empress mall
Nagpur: The unauthorized construction in Empress Mall was given a time limit of two days, which expired on Friday, yet the said construction was not demolished by Saturday.

According to sources, the unauthorized construction was made on plots 1 to 4, admeasuring 43,000 sq ft area within Empress Mall vicinity. The NMC slapped repeated notices on Empress Mall management, but the Mall showed sheer reluctance. Recently, a notice under MRTC Act was slapped on Mall management and then it submitted the map of unauthorized construction a few days ago, but did not demolish the construction.

As a result, the encroachment department of NMC came into action and its head Ashok Patil led the drive for demolition. Upon this, the Mall management sought two days time limit urging the demolition squad that  it (the Mall) would demolish the construction by itself. The time limit expired on Friday, yet neither did the Mall management demolish the unauthorized construction nor did the NMC do, on Saturday. The illegally constructed porch is still standing in its construction ‘as it was.’
