Three held for maiming and killing cattle

Nagpur: The Jaripatka Police had raided an abattoir or slaughter house and arrested three accused for their involvement in maiming and killing cattle.

The accused have been identified as 1. Abdul Hafiz son of Haji Sheikh Karim aged 63 years and a resident of 11/3, Chitnis Layout, Mental Hospital Square, 2. Hattu Madia Barde aged 27 years and a resident of Bannur, Tehsil Bhagwanpur, District Khargaon (Madhya Pradesh), 3. Dinesh Roopsingh Ajnare aged 27 years and a resident of Jamia Pali, District Khargaon (Madhya Pradesh).

According to police sources, the accused Abdul Hafiz son of Haji Sheikh Karim used to store beef (cattle meat), hide and fat in a four rooms of a godown hit behind Duke’s Bar, Bhilgaon, Kamptee Road falling within the jurisdiction of Jaripatka Police Station. The accused had stored 4200 hides and 1500 tins of fat in all worth Rs 8 lakhs.

Accused Hattu Madia Barde and Dinesh Roopsingh Ajnare had illegally slaughtered cattle and had brought 1800 hides worth Rs 4 lakhs in a truck (worth Rs 5 lakhs) bearing RTO registration No MH-18/ AA-9169.

The cops of Jaripatka Police Station have seized the truck and all the goods in all worth Rs 17 lakhs.
Police Sub Inspector N V Dorlikar of Jaripatka Police Station has registered a case under Section 429 of Indian Penal Code and under Sections 9 and 11 of Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act.
