Nagpur: Police arrested the director of Sheeladevi Public School in Dattawadi, Lalchand Garg on Monday. The accused was questioned by cops for the entire day.
The discontent against Garg had been rising. Various organisations of the city were demanding action against Garg for his alleged acts of omission and commission. He was also charged with derolling a student from the school for celebrating ‘Samvidhan Divas’.
Sources said that Garg was picked up from the school premises in the morning itself. He was taken to the office of assistant commissioner of police where he was interrogated for a long time. The victim student was also brought to the police station at 2 pm. ACP P G Mane then accompanied the student to the school where he recorded the statements of many students and teachers.
It may be noted here that a 15-year-old-student of 9th standard of the school was allegedly beaten mercilessly for celebrating ‘Samvidhan Divas’ along with his friends by the director Garg.
