Nagpur News : Although the recently held Lok Sabha polls were conducted peacefully due to inexcusable blunders of the administration thousands of city voters were deprived of their constitutional right.  Many voters were carrying voter Id cards but only because their names were not in voter’s list they could not exercise the right. Similarly, many old names were deleted from the list without any rhyme or reason.

The supplemental lists provided by local poll administration were received just three days before the poll by the party offices and as these were not available at the booths, the people could not exercise their right.

On one hand there was wide spread propaganda for raising the percentage of voting by seeking co-operation even of social organizations apart from government itself and on other hand due to criminal neglect of administration nearly 60 thousand voters were deprived of their right.

On this background Congress candidate from Nagpur,Vilas Muttemwar’s election representative, Marotrao Kumbhalkar has made a written complaint to the Election Commission and Congress delegation including Vilas Muttemwar, MLA Dinanath Padole, Congress city chief, Vikas Thakre also called upon election officers to apprise them of the issue.
