Thieves made away with gold chains in Dhantoli and Rana Pratap Nagar

Nagpur News : Dhantoi and Rana Pratap Nagar police recorded two chain-snatching incidents where thieves made away with gold chains worth Rs 25,000 and Rs 9,000 respectively.

In the first incidence, two unidentified youths snatched away the gold chain worn by Swati Ashok Deshpande (55) on Tuesday evening. Swati, a resident of Gajanan Nagar, Dhantoli, was was parking her two-wheeler vehicle at Pawansut Complex, Deo Nagar square at 4.30 pm on Tuesday. Two unidentified thieves came from behind on a motorcycle, snatched away her gold chain worth Rs 25,000, and sped away before she could raise an alarm.

She immediately reported the incidence to Dhantoli police station who registered an offence under Sections 393 and 34 of the IPC.

In another case, the 62-year-old complainant Anita Vijay Deshpande, a resident of Pratap Nagar was walking back home with her elder sister and cousin on Tuesday at 6.45 pm. The accused came from front and snatched away her gold chain worth Rs 9,000. The women put up a fight with the accused but he over powered them and ran away from the scene.

Anita immediately reached Rana Pratap Nagar police station who registered an offence under Section 392 of the IPC against the unidentified youth.
