Theft at Shani Dham temple in Nagpur’s Narendra Nagar

Nagpur: In a significant breakthrough, Beltarodi Police apprehended a 19-year-old thief named Sarvesh alias Ayush Sushil Ramteke, a resident of Ramteke Nagar, for theft of a donation box at Shani Dham in Narendra Nagar.

According to police, the theft took place on February 21 when Sarvesh forcibly entered the temple by breaking the lock on the door. Two donation boxes were pilfered, containing approximately Rs 30,000 in cash. The police registered a case of burglary and launched an investigation. The police identified the accused and arrested him.

During the arrest, the police recovered donation boxes and cash amounting to Rs 12,500 from the accused. Sarvesh was involved in two more burglaries and a robbery case.

The arrest was made by Senior Police Inspector Mukunda Kawade with the efforts of API Kakade, Badodkar, Tejram Deole, Akre Bhopche, and others.

Robber held in Hudkeshwar:

Hudkeshwar Police arrested a knife-wielding robber named Dadu alias Shrikant Hemraj Phating (30), hailing from Ashirwad Nagar. The arrest follows an incident on Saturday night in Hudkeshwar Khurd area, where Dadu and three accomplices snatched Rs 10,000 in cash from Wasim Sheikh Salis, a 34-year-old resident of Bada Tajbagh, on knife point. The robbers also stole a moped before fleeing the scene. Hudkeshwar Police registered a case of robbery and have arrested the accused.
