Senior students of Mechanical Engineering department of S B Jain Institute of Technology Management & Research, Nagpur had organized a Freshers’ party here on Saturday under their departmental Forum A.I.M.E.S. A little lilting music and the chink of ice, new faces with and smiles all along, resounding laughter were some of the glimpse of the party.

The very purpose of Freshers’ Day party was to welcome newcomers of the department in a friendly atmosphere and avoid social evils, to encourage their creative impulses and also to boost their confidence. It was a colorful occasion as freshers were dressed in their best attires and outfits. Whatsoever, the highlight of the event was a competition for selecting Mr & Miss Fresher. Fresh faces walked down the ramp that grabbed most attentions.

Adding fun to the evening were songs, a few games, wherein funny-and-witty-question round were also organized. Among all the spiffy youngsters, Mr & Miss Freshers , Nichal Sahani & Amoleena Banarjee were awarded for their outstanding performance in question answer round and dance. The juniors surprised the gathering by setting the floor on fire with a dance show on remixes like ‘Lungi Dance’ & ‘Masshalla Masshalla’ .The party turned out to be great way to break ice. The celebration continued till late in the evening as the chic crowd danced to the foot tapping tracks of DJ Benny.

CEO of the Institute, Prof Sanjeev Aagrawal , Vice Principal , Dr SL Badjate , HOD of Mech Engg Department, Prof VM Suple , Forum Incharge, Prof Beyani & all teaching, non teaching staff were prominently present for the function to boost the confidence of student. Forum president Palash Jadhav & vice president Neha Fuke along with their team worked hard to make the event grand successes.

Aaditya Oak, Student, SBJITMR said, “The freshers’ party was a great outcome of Co-ordination and efforts of all 3^rd and 4^th year students of Mechanical Department. This experience of management, fun and discipline will definitely groom our personalities and shall also set a trend for our juniors to arrange freshers’ party in coming years for our department.”

Another youngster, Hrudesh Parshionikar, who seemed to enjoy the party a lot said, “Being a 3^rd year student, we have organized a colorful theme party, along with the felicitation of the faculty of our college. The alumina and the juniors enjoyed incredibly. Two things that were clearly visible in the program were confidence and creativity of the students.”

On the other hand, the fresh face out of the 2^nd years’ student clang, Yashwant Suple expressed the amusement saying, “As a fresher I enjoyed a lot, all credits to the supportive seniors, the rocking DJ and of course the delicious food! The end of the party saw smiling and happy faces. I feel lucky to be a part of the first bash of this dept.”
