Nagpur: It has been reported that three workers were seriously injured in a horrific accident at the Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) coal mine at Sillevada in Nagpur district. The condition of two of them is critical and they are undergoing treatment in a hospital in Nagpur.
The accident occurred due to shifting of tubs full of coal and this incident took place on Sunday afternoon. Names of the injured employees are Kunal Thakre, Gajanan Perkande and Rohit Lobde. As soon as the information about the incident came to light, all the three were immediately admitted to the hospital. As the condition of two of them was critical, they were shifted to a hospital in Nagpur. The accident has raised serious concerns about the safety of workers at WCL mines, which have a history of accidents.
Contractor systems and security protocols are being audited by management. After this incident, questions are being raised about the accountability of security officers and managers. The incident has highlighted the need for improved safety measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
