Teenager killed for stopping a man from consuming liquor

Stopping a middle-aged man to consume more alcohol costs a teenager his life in Kalaman area on Tuesday. The 19-year-old deceased Monu Shah and his friend Sagar Vishwakarma were attacked and Monu was killed brutally with a sharp-edged weapon when the kids stopped the accused Mohan Ashok Mehta (35) from consuming more alcohol. The accused alleged that the teenagers beat him up to stop him from consuming alcohol after which the accused lost his temper and attacked the deceased and his friend with a sharp-edged weapon.

The accused, after being stopped and beaten by the boys, headed for his house and brought a ‘gupti’ and attacked them. Monu succumbed to the injuries he sustained on his abdomen and waist.

On the complaint of Sagar’s father Naresh Lakhanlal Vishwakarma, Kalamna police arrested the killer Mohan after registering an offence under Section 302 read with sub section 135 of Mumbai Police Act.
