Teenage boy, youth killed in separate road mishaps in Imambada, Pratap Nagar

Nagpur: A teenage boy and youth died in separate road accidents reported in Imambada and Pratap Nagar police areas on Tuesday.

In the first incident, Sheikh Mobin Mohd Siraj (17), native of Kandhari, Purulia, West Bengal but currently staying at Azad Colony, Motha Tajbagh, was returning home on Activa (MH-49/BC 1981) from Model Mill Square around 6 pm on Monday. Midway between Ashoka Square and Awari Square, a rashly driven e-rickshaw dashed against Sheikh Mobin’s Activa. As a result, he crashed onto the road divider and suffered critical head injuries. He was rushed to GMCH. But doctors declared him dead around 7.10 am on Tuesday during treatment.

Imambada police constable Lohkare, based on a complaint lodged by Sheikh Mehboob Alam Sheikh Ashraf (33), booked the unidentified accused e-rickshaw driver under Sections 279, 304(A), 338 of the IPC read with Sections 177, 134 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.

Similarly, a youth named Mihir Bhaskar Meshram (22) died as he rammed his moped onto a parked truck near Hingna T-Point, Rachana Metro Station in Pratap Nagar police area. Mihir was going on a Suzuki moped (MH-33/U9942) around 0100 hours of Tuesday. While riding the moped, Mihir could not see the Tata Eicher truck (MH-31/FC 4743) parked carelessly in the dark near Hingna T-Point, Rachana Metro Station. As a result he rammed the parked truck and received fatal injuries. He was rushed to Orange City Hospital but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Pratap Nagar Woman PSI Chamle, based on a complaint lodged by Rambhau Pundlikrao Meshram (65), resident of Ambedkar Ward, Gadchiroli, booked the unidentified truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Section 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and probing the matter further.
