Technology with education brings prosperity to nation, says Dr Kalam at VNIT’s AXIS tech fest

“Success will come when we overcome failure. Blend of economy, environment and technology ultimately bring prosperity and achievement to society. To achieve our goal we have to inter relate education, infrastructure, informative and importantly technology which will transform India,” said former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam after inaugurating the 14th edition of annual technical festival AXIS 2014 organised by Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology’s (VNIT) on Friday , September 26.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr Kalam first hailed India’s historic Mars mission. He talked about achievement which comes within us and also shared his experience about the first satellite launched in 1973. Sharing his experience, Dr Kalam further said that technology which can be used for development whatever may be the problems. “One should not let the problem to be the captain instead become caption of the problem. When problems come across one should become captain of the problem, defeat the problem and succeed,” asserted the former President.

He emphasized by giving a message on Technical Education through the poem titled “I will fly” based on 13th century. “Education comes under fire of subconscious mind,” said Dr Kalam and proceeded by quoting “what will you give to the Nation” as said by Acharya Sadhideva in Nalanda in 1808.

Dr. Kalam congratulated Director of VNIT Dr Narendra Chaudhari, Dr. Y.B. Katpatal, Prof in Charge AXIS, Dr. G. P. Singh, Dean (Students Welfare) Dr. H. M. Suryawanshi, Dean (R&C), and Dr. S.S. Bhat Prof In charge Industry Institute Interaction Cell, Dr. A. Patel and Dr. Mahesh Verma for organizing the annual technical festival AXIS 2014 and was delighted to meet the students who participated in Axis’14. The hall was packed to the brim with students of every faculty taking the seat in the auditorium.

Dr. Kalam gifted books to the Axis team. Welcome address was given by Director of VNIT Dr Narendra Chaudhari. Dr. Yashpal.B Katpatal, Prof in Charge AXIS, introduced Dr. Kalam.  Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. G. P. Singh, Dean (Students Welfare).

The former President Dr. Kalam appreciated the greenery of VNIT as he entered into the campus.
