Nagpur: The trial run of Metro which was extended to end of August (from 15th August), has again been extended to mid-September.

As is being stated by the officials, the delay is being caused due to unavailability of Chief Minister. The officials also claimed that the preparations from their end have been completed. “As it is the most important project of Nagpur from the point-of-view of development, we consider that it is better to carry out the trial run in presence of Chief Minister”, stated one of the officials.

The Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation is to conduct an internal technical check on the elevated metro route of 5 kilometres at the Wardha Road. The NMRC is seeking that the same should be conducted in presence of Chief Minsiter Devendra Fadanavis and Nitin Gadkari. However, due to busy schedule, Fadanavis is unable to provide time for the trial run as a consequence of which, the date has been extended once again.
