Suspicious man stabs wife to death in Sonegaon area, arrested

Nagpur: In a spine chilling incident, a suspicious man stabbed his wife to death on intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The cold blooded murder took place in Sonegaon area. The accused has been arrested.

According to police, the accused, Deepak Hemaji Chandrikapure (45) along with wife Nilu (40), was staying as tenant in the house of B N Pratike, Plot No. 97B, Anand Arpan Nagar, Wardha Road, Sonegaon. The accused Deepak always suspected Nilu’s fidelity and this was the reason for frequent skirmishes between the couple. On Thursday, Nilu insisted Deepak on witnessing Ravan Dahan event.

Nilu’s insistence led to a fresh brawl between the husband-wife duo. It is reported that after the brawl, the accused Deepak left home but returned at about 1.15 in the night. On his return, Deepak again resorted to fighting with Nilu and questioned her character.

However, the wordy duel soon took a worst turn when the accused Deepak, engulfed by suspicion, got himself armed with a Gupti-like weapon and stabbed Nilu on her chest and stomach repeatedly. The grievously injured and profusely bleeding Nilu died on the spot. The couple’s son, Sandeep, stunned by the bloody incident, immediately alerted Sonegaon police. API S G Yele and his team rushed to the crime scene and after performing panchnama sent Nilu’s body to GMCH for post-mortem.

Cops booked the accused Deepak Hemaji Chandrikapure under Sections 302, 504, 506 of IPC and took him into custody. Further probe is underway.
