Nagpur: Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi was unanimously re-elected as the RSS General Secretary for a third time for the next three years on Saturday.

Joshi was re-elected by 1,400 delegates from across the country at the all-India Pratinidhi Sabha of RSS, the highest decision-making body of the Sangh, at its meeting in Nagpur.

Former RSS spokesperson-turned-BJP leader Ram Madhav tweeted the development a few minutes ago. “Bhayyaji Joshi re-elected Sarkaryavah — Gen. Secretary of RSS for next 3 years. Abhinandan n respects,” he said. An official declaration would be made at a press conference in Nagpur in a short while.

Speculation was rife that Mr. Joshi, who was completing his three year term, could be replaced by Sah-Sarkaryavah (joint- general secretary) Dattatrey Hosabale.
