Support functions are crucial to achieve Mission one billion coal production : Rajiv R Mishra

Nagpur: Chairman cum Managing Director of Western Coalfields Limited Rajiv R. Mishra presented a technical paper on “Mission one billion tonnes coal” during “National Seminar on challenges in Enhancing Coal Production through State of Art Technology, higher productivity & innovation” in Delhi. The seminar was organized by World Confederation of Productivity Science (India). Shri. Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy, Govt. of India inaugurated the seminar and Shri. Anil Swarup, IAS, Secretary Coal, Govt. of India was the Guest of Honour of the programme.

While presenting paper during the seminar Mishra said that to achieve any mission, vision is required to be defined with road map and time lines. After defining vision the status of initiatives taken is to be analyzed and way forward to meet challenges is to be prepared.

Along with main line functions support functions are equally important to be developed in the industry, he said. He described about support function challenges also during his presentation.

Mishra emphasized on state of art technology and innovations. This is to be noted that Nagpur based Miniratna Central Public Sector Undertaking is committed to produce 60 MTY coal by 2019-20 and to open ten new projects during FY – 2015-16.
