New Delhi: Sunil Arora, who assumed office as election commissioner on Friday, will conduct the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, going by the dates of birth of the two incumbent ECs.
Sunil Arora, a career bureaucrat who has held senior positions as secretary in the skill development and information and broadcasting ministries, was also CEO of Prasar Bharti.
The CEC, Achal Kumar Joti, will demit office on January 23, 2018, while the other EC, Om Prakash Rawat, on being elevated as CEC after Joti, will also demit office in the same year but on December 2.
