Student organisations holds agitation to press for various demands

Nagpur: After a lull of about 3-4 months, the students organisations in the city have suddenly become active once again and have started protests and agitation pressing for various demands of students in Rashtrasant Sant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur university (RTMNU). Two back-to-back protests were staged by National Students union of India (NSUI) on Monday followed by an agitation by Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Tuesday.

The ABVP staged an agitation in the university pressing demand for giving BSC 1st year students (2012) batch one more attempt to clear their backlog subjects. Actually theuniversity has introduced semester pattern in BSC. Recently, the RTMNU has issued a notification, wherein students who are not able to clear their backlogs of BSC first year (2012) in previous three attempts will again have to take admission in 1st year in Semester pattern.

The ABVP raised slogans near vice chancellors office and demanded one more attempt for these students in the coming summer examinations. According to ABVP office- bearers, during discussion with vice chancellor Dr Vinayak Deshpande, he has assured them of putting their plea in the agenda of coming Board of Examination (BoE) meeting on January 9.
