Strengthening India–Mauritius Youth Ties: Mauritian Delegation Visits NCC Group Nagpur

A high-level delegation from Mauritius visited 1 Maharashtra Remounted & Veterinary Squadron (R&V Sqn)and the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Group Headquarters in Nagpur on April 25, 2026, to bolster India-Mauritius cooperation in youth development.

The delegation led by Mrs. Dhanita Ramdharee, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of Mauritius, along with Mr. Darmalingum Mootien (Advisor) and Mr. Rajcoomar Seebah (Deputy Commissioner of Police) were received by Gp Capt Khushal Vyas, Group Commander, NCC Group Nagpur, and Col SK Mishra, Officer Commanding 1 R & V Sqn.

The visitors observed live displays of NCC cadets’ equestrian skills followed by a comprehensive briefing at ‘Yuva Shakti Bhavan’ at NCC Group HQ Nagpur highlighting the NCC’s focus on leadership, discipline, and nation-building. The delegation interacted with Group HQ staff officers and Commanding Officers of units under the Nagpur Group.

The delegation also reviewed the R & V Squadron’s training framework, infrastructure, and administrative setup, gaining first-hand exposure to activities such as show jumping, dressage, and tent pegging.

Impressed by the professionalism and dedication of the unit, the delegation described the model as a valuable reference for their future youth initiatives. The exchange reinforced people-to-people ties and paved the way for future collaborations.
In closing remarks, the delegation thanked the NCC team for the seamless conduct of the said visit.
