Strange scenario: BJP in celebration mood & Shiv Sena talking divorce

Nagpur:
The BJP-Shiv Sena Government has put itself in top gear for celebrations marking completion of one year at the helm in Maharashtra. However, there is one notable difference. The celebrations, on grand scale, have been planned by BJP at its level only. The Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed the party cadre to take the achievements of Government to people’s doors, effectively.

However, it seems, the directives issued by Fadnavis are not as Chief Minister but rather a senior party leader, more eloquently. Shiv Sena, even though it is a partner in Government, is not going participate in any celebration. The reason is crystal clear: The simmering rift within the two parties over one issue or the other.

The main two leaders of the parties may have been debunking reports of internal bickering but the disappointment is staring the faces of lower ranks in both the ruling parties. On one hand the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has termed the fighting between BJP and Shiv Sena as media creation and on the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray spares no opportunity to target the Government at Dussehra rally and fires salvos after salvos. The reasons for showdown are clear. Even the Government is completing a year the Shiv Sena on its part could not meet aspirations and do justice to its activists. Various Boards and Committees are bereft of high posts that could have gone to Shiv Sena loyals. But the Chief Minister is cold shouldering the issue by his own style.

Now, the Shiv Sainiks have started opening their minds and saying that even though their party is part of the Government it is not fulfilling the aspirations of people at large. Shiv Sena City Unit President Satish Harde charged that BJP had promised ‘Achhe Din’ but the ‘Achhe Din’ have not come. The Chief Minister is only making announcements but the people are disappointed with the Government.

Shiv Sena is standing with farmers but the fact is that the way Government is working for farmers’ relief it is far away from the desired results. The activists of the party are staging demonstrations at various places. Now the moot question arises: Is everything okay in the alliance?
