Nagpur News: Despite the initiative to expedite the Nagpur Metro Rail project taken by chief minister, Metro Rail appears to be going in vain. Hurdles in way of the project appear to be mounting with each passing day.
The proposal to develop the car depot for Metro Rail has been scrapped. The Maharashtra Airport Development Company has sent the proposal back to the State, despite the fact that 60 acres of land in Mihan had already been secured for the project.
It may be noted here that the Nagpur Improvement Trust had been appointed as the nodal agency for the project.
According to sources proposal for the car depot was turned down during NIT chairman”s Pravin Darade”s Mussoori visit.
According to sources the proposal would have to be prepared anew. The recent development comes as a major setback for the project even as the NMC lately agreed to pay its share to the project which is estimated to be around ` 450 crore. Starting trouble for Metro Rail
