ST bus crushes man under the wheels at Ajni Square

In a ghastly mishap, the State Transport Bus going from Nagpur to Rajura ran over a middle aged man killing him on the spot on October 7, 2014.

The incident occurred near the Army War Tank (captured from Pakistan) placed at Ajni Square at around 8 pm on October 7, 2014. The onlookers claimed that the driver of State Transport bus bearing RTO registration number MH-40 / Y-5233 was driving the bus at a breakneck speed. The man, around 45-50 years of age, came under the rear wheels of the bus and got crushed. He died on the spot.

However, what angered the onlookers was that the bus driver showed no sensitivity and was attempting to flee with the bus on the Wardha road. The onlookers were quick and followed him on vehicles and apprehended him near Kothari Hospital hit opposite Sai Temple.

The angered mob gave a sound thrashing till the cops came and saved him from the angry mob. Though the bus driver and the conductor were arrested by Dhantoli Police Station, the police believe that the since the victim came under the rear wheels of the bus, the driver could not have been at fault and the cause for his death. Till the time of filing the report, the case was still under investigation.
